This is what started it all back in 1942! The AMS Regular Head Auger is the grandfather in the industry of soil augers! It is our most popular auger and is used in most soil conditions. The Regular Head Augers unique design allows you to get to the required depth in almost no time at all. The Regular Auger is used for ordinary soil sampling and for accessing the sampling point when un-disturbed samples will be taken with a core sampler

Mud Auger

When you encounter heavy, wet, or clay soil the AMS Mud Auger is the right tool for the job. The Mud Auger features an open cylinder making removal of your sample easy. Special mud bits help you get to your required depth. The bits are also designed to be spaced further apart than the regular auger to ease entry of sticky soils.

Sand Auger

The AMS Sand Auger is built to last! The Sand Auger is designed for use in extremely dry, sandy soil. The bits are specially formed to retain loose, sandy samples.

Dutch Auger

The AMS Dutch Auger is unsurpassed for getting to the bottom of your problem. Hand-forged from high-carbon steel, and honed to a fine cut-ting edge, the AMS Dutch Auger will get you through high fibrous and heavily rooted soil. It is excellent for use in fibrous areas or vineyards. The Dutch Auger comes in two different sizes.

Cross Handles

Cross Handles are made from 4130 Chrome molybdenum steel or stainless steel. The Chrome Molybdenum Handle is also available with a molded rubber cover. A new ratcheting version is now available. Select a 16" long cross handle for most applications. The 10" model will be found useful in tight or confined space situations.
